Artistic Haven in the Tweed Valley
The scenic town of Murwillumbah is located on the Tweed River, inland from the coastal centres of Tweed Heads and Brunswick Heads.
The town's commercial centre extends along Murwillumbah Street and into Wollumbin Street which crosses over the Tweed River into Murwillumbah South where the railway station is located.
Murwillumbah is situated within a rich agricultural region, surrounded by sugar cane farms, banana plantations and grazing land.
In the distance to the west of town is the towering peak of Mount Warning, surrounded by the World Heritage listed Wollumbin National Park. Access to the mountain peak is via a 4½ kilometre walk which is steep and rocky in sections.
